Valuing All Seasons

Ps John Rhodes   -

We have many seasons in life, every season is a gift from God. Embrace it! Don’t waste it! – including both good and bad times. Ecclesiastes 3:v1 There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens….v11 He has made everything beautiful in its time.

Rick Warren said, “Every season of life has a purpose. Life is a combination of contrasting seasons. All sunshine and no rain make a desert. If you’re following God’s will, if you’re trying to live your life according to the way God wants you to live, then you’ll eventually see that these experiences can have purpose and value in your life.”

Why we should Value All Seasons

  1. God is Present

God is omnipresent. He is everywhere, all the time. He is not limited by time and space. This means we will never be left out by God. He said He will be with you always–:

  • In good season or bad season.
  • In seasons of waiting and seasons of going out to conquer.
  • In seasons of happiness and seasons of sorrow.
  • In seasons of satisfaction and seasons of disappointment.

Deuteronomy 31:v8 (NLV) “The Lord is the One who goes before you. He will be with you. He will be faithful to you and will not leave you alone. Do not be afraid or troubled.”

I like sunflowers. Every time I went out of my previous house at Hurstville, I could look at sunflowers. I felt a big smile was coming from them. They made filled my heart with joy. A sunflower always follows and faces the sun. I encourage you to be like a sunflower. Face God’s presence in all your seasons of life. Always connect with Him. Keep all available channels opened to God. Then you will experience God’s light to direct you to the right path, even in the darkest of times.

If lost, He will be a GPS to lead you to the right destination. We are still on track for the salvation. We need to live in the presence of the Lord. And value every minute with Jesus.

God is everywhere present. God is with us in every situation. When we let Him come in to every room of our heart.

  1. Every Season Has an End

All things are temporary, everything on earth is not forever. Each season will end in its time. Spring ends, summer ends, autumn ends, and winter ends.

Every season has a beginning and an end – seasons of shame, seasons of suffering, seasons of sorrow, season of the unknown, season of fear, and season of uncertainty. All difficult seasons in our life will come to an end. God’s hand can change our situation. We can rely on the God who said, “I am the Alpha and the Omega.” God is the beginning and the end. God lives in eternity. He has his hand on everything.

David started as an ordinary man. He persevered in hard times until they ended. He was not always in good times; he was not always successful. His life was up and down. He valued time and fought for God and his people.  He made sure he had a right heart before God. He came back to God when he had failed. He became an extraordinary man of God.

Choosing to walk with Jesus is to begin a new season. It will be a time of restoration of a right relationship with God. We learn what is in God’s heart. He will reveal it to us through Jesus. We will be revived, awakened, and spiritually brought back to life again and again through the work of the Holy Spirit.

Romans 5:3-4 NLT 3 We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. 4 And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation.

From my experience, When I ran into problems. They didn’t stay forever. They eventually came to an end. Don’t waste our seasons. We should learn, value from every season of life to sharpen our character and strengthen our confident, faith and hope in God’s love.

  1. Glorify God in All Seasons

Magnify God and acknowledge His contribution to your life. Give all glory to God. Remember Him in every aspect of life. Remember His mighty works and goodness. Value our time with God even in the time of adversity. Do not forget to glorify God.

When I felt no way out in a desperate situation, I would recall God’s blessing, his faithfulness, and His deliverance. I give thanks to Him for what He has already done in my life. God helped me in the past, he could deliver me now. He will make a way and show the straight path in the future. When I received a blessing, I would straight away glorify His name by share a testimony. I can enjoy the blessing of God and, at the same time, not forget about Him.

As children of God, our thoughts, our mind, our speech and actions should be targeted at how to glorify God daily. In our daily activities, both outdoors or indoors, we should have God on our minds and seek to do only the things that would bring glory to God’s name and His Kingdom. 1 Corinthians 10:31 NIV So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. No matter where you are at. your circumstances or where you find yourself, you can choose to glorify God in your life.

It can be very challenging. I know that! Many people fall into temptation and indulge in their desires. Then they forget God who blesses them. They start to have gods other than Jesus. 1 Timothy 6:9 Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction.

When we give our best to God– seek Him first and His kingdom and His righteousness, call upon the name of Lord Jesus in all situations– His name will be glorified!

Value All Seasons because 1. God is always present. 2. Every season has an end., 3. We can glorify God in all our seasons of life.
